Workshop A: DAY 2 Exploring the library of material

Updated: Dec 29, 2018

The workshop continued with the team getting more acquainted with the system of "rooms" and exploring further the library of material. Communication already started becoming easier during the improvisations.

A couple of weeks before the workshop each member of the team was asked to hand in a series of materials. This content was used as a concrete basis, through which the artists could focus on the challenging process of working together on stage.

  • a motto that inspired you recently

Pepe: Kurt Lewin

If you want to truly understand something, try to change it.

George: Ambrose Akinmusire

Creativity is a way of living.

Roelof's comment: Albert Einstein

Creativity is intelligence having fun.

Els: Oscar Wilde

Selfishness is not living as one wishes to live,

it is asking others to live as one wishes to live.

Thanasis: Isaac Asimov

It is change, continuing change, inevitable change, that is the dominant factor in society today. No sensible decision can be made any longer without taking into account not only the world as it is, but the world as it will be...

Efthimis: Giorgos Cheimonas

The word was created to postpone the action. And it does so because it doesn’t know which action could that be, if the action that could replace the word even exists.

Tzeni: Kostas Kalimeris

In the darkest times we have the right to expect a flare which may well come from the uncertain, trembling and often weak light, that some people will light up with their lives and their work, and will share as long as they live.

Argyro: Nikos Gabriel Pentzikis

I had started to believe and to hope that I will too become a man among the others.

Roelof: Roald Dahl

And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.

Richard: Helmut Lachenmann

It all started with Adam and Eve when they bit into that apple. It probably would’ve been unartistic not to.

Bas: Nikolaus Harnoncourt

A surprise that you already know, doesn’t surprise anymore, it is no longer a surprise.
